Is your fitness club GDPR compliant? Here is everything you should know about The General Data Protection Regulation!
GDPR or the EU Rule 679/2016 came into operation on May 25th 2018, and it's considered the most restrictive data protection law in the world.
GDPR or The General Data Protection Regulation is a rule enforced by the European Union that protects personal data. GDPR is meant to increase data protection of all EU citizens. Therefore, companies and organisations that collect or process personal data have more obligations and responsibilities.
If your gym is a company registered in the European Union, and most of your members are EU residents, you must comply with the GDPR and fully obey its norms.
Gyms and fitness clubs are particularly affected by the GDPR because they have an extensive database with personal information of members and leads, including names, physical addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and similar data.
