As a fitness enthusiast with a particular interest in group fitness classes, whenever I have time to go to the gym, I pay close attention to certain details I expect to see.
No matter what type of classes you organize in your gym, a few aspects can make the difference between an OK experience and a… WOW experience.
Here are the details that I usually notice.
I know this should always happen, but you'd be surprised how many times the instructor arrives precisely at the start of the class or is a few minutes late.
Excluding emergencies, it is very unpleasant for members to wait for the instructor to start the class, particularly if you don't allow members in the studio after the class begins. Respect your clients' time.
Members should feel encouraged to ask questions and advice (without interrupting the class, of course). At the same time, the instructor should correct the movement of members, not just go through the routines without paying any attention to the participants.
It's crucial to create a fun atmosphere, but members should also feel motivated to perform all the exercises, even when they feel they can't go on.
I encountered loads of instructors that are very energetic at the beginning and throughout the class, but in the last few minutes, they can't wait to finish and leave the studio.
I think this is a mistake because, during those last few minutes, members form their impression of the class, which will remain with them. And if you want members to return to your class, then make those last few minutes count.
Therefore, prepare a cool-down period, and at the very end, don't forget to introduce yourself again if some members didn't catch your name and congratulate them for their workout. That way, members will leave the class delighted and excited to book your next class.
The easier and simple the system is, the greater the chances that members will book their spot for your group X classes. And if they know they have their spot assured, they will be more likely to show up.
Group classes are one of the most popular services at any gym, and I've seen this firsthand with all our clients.
Members become part of the gym's community easier if they attend these classes weekly. Therefore, make sure their experience is exceptional every time they show up.
That way, they will be more likely to renew their membership when the time comes, so they continue to have access to your amazing community.
Group X classes are a very easy and efficient way to increase your retention rate and an excellent method to get ahead of your competition. With a few improvements, you can draw up a group fitness program that will attract more new members and will ensure the loyalty of your current ones for a long time.
There is an easier way to get more members! Communicate efficiently with them through automated emails, provide them the option to purchase memberships online, delight them with a professional mobile app and member account, and surprise them with fast services at the reception desk.
